The South African Carbon Tax Act through participation on the International Panel on Climate change (IPCC), has since implemented measures to stabilize emissions of GHG's to the atmosphere. Therefore, a tax is imposed to all entities across industries involved in carbon dioxide emissions through the Act 15 of 2019. To learn more, refer to the publicly available downloads attached.

In 2011, A research paper was presented by Neo Modise, Sasol, Dr. Michiel Kruijff, Serco/ESA, Dr. Andre Bos, S&T, Rob Bos EuroPIMS, Dr Arjan Mieremet, S&T, Prof Amnon Ginati, ESA jointly to a panel during the IAC (International Astronautical Congress) 2011 in Cape Town South Africa, presenting the use of Space Assets to monitor Pipeline infrastructure.
